The Peak Story and Purpose

Founded in 2004, Peak Health Solutions is a leading national provider of mid-revenue cycle solutions to acute care and physician practice markets seeking medical coding, clinical documentation improvement and compliance. Our proven service offerings include remote medical coding, clinical documentation improvement, compliance and revenue integrity auditing, denials management, physician training and education, EMR-HIM optimization, education development and HIM professionals staffing.

Peak Health Solutions delivers a superior set of solutions to hospitals that are some of the largest and most prestigious in the country. In fact, Peak Health Solutions was recently named Category Leader for Outsourced Coding in the 2017 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services Annual Report.

Peak’s management team is comprised of highly skilled and experienced Coding Managers and health information management experts. Our goal is to provide exceptional HIM professionals with long-term, dependable and flexible careers helping healthcare providers classify and improve clinical documentation, ensure accurate patient outcomes and always receive timely reimbursement.

Brad Hill

President
Brad HillBrad Hill, a 24 year veteran of the healthcare industry, joined Peak Health Solutions, Franklin, TN as President. Brad is responsible for all Peak business unit functions including business strategy and partnerships, sales and marketing, operations, and financial performance. Prior to joining Peak, Brad served as the Chief Revenue Officer at RemitDATA, Inc., Plano, TX and successfully completed the sale of the company to eSolutions, Inc. At RemitDATA, Brad was responsible for all customer revenue operations and business development efforts.

Before RemitDATA Brad was Vice President, Payer Solutions at Passport/Experian Health, where he introduced existing products and new solutions to the commercial and government-sponsored payer markets. These services provided a new level of transparency and communication between payers and providers and represented the fastest growing segment of the Experian Health portfolio.

Prior to Experian, Hill was President of Parity, Inc., an early-stage workers compensation revenue solutions company helping insurers, self-insured employers and third-party administrators identify and recover overpaid claims. Hill also served as Vice President at HMS, where he provided executive oversight of program integrity and third-party liability services for 40+ state Medicaid and managed care plans representing 55 million lives. Hill was also Vice President at AIM Healthcare and was responsible for the creation and management of the Data Mining Services division; assisting health plans in the identification and recovery of over $1 billion in errant claim payments.

Brad lives in the Franklin community, is a CPA, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Murray State University and serves on several company boards and committees.

Justin Schmidt

Senior Vice President & Founder
Justin Schmidt is a co-founder and President of Peak Health Solutions. Justin has over 15 years of experience in healthcare management and has played a vital role in managing and building the Provider Business Unit for Peak Health Solutions. He is the key leader around the strategic planning for Peak both domestically and internationally which include operations, financial management and sales/marketing. In addition, he is responsible for the growth and management within the Government business unit for Peak Health Solutions. Justin has a degree in Business Administration from Boston University.

Peder Christensen

Vice President of Sales
Peder Christensen joined Peak in 2016 where he had an immediate impact reorganizing and repositioning the sales platform to include additional services lines. With more than 15 years of sales and sales management experience, Peder has had a successful track record in generating sequential revenue and EBITDA growth quarter over quarter. He is responsible for all Peak sales personnel and nationwide sales operations. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health and Social Sciences from the University of Central Florida.

Stacy Swartz

Vice President of HIM Operations
Stacy Swartz began her career at Licking Memorial Health Systems, Stacy has held several Director and Vice President positions at Genesis Healthcare, Sutherland Healthcare Solutions and Gebbs Healthcare Solutions. As an AHIMA Ambassador and an approved ICD-10 trainer, Stacy has 20 years of experience in the coding and Health Information industry having worked all facets of the profession from coding to billing to Vice President of HIM services. With expertise in both professional and facility service lines, she has served as an educator/consultant to over 800 coders and upwards of 400 physicians. Her coding experience includes both inpatient and outpatient services having worked with several of the largest Health Systems and Hospitals in the industry. She is an erudite on HIPAA and federal regulations, having been instrumental in organizational restructuring, client onboarding, systems application and ICD-10 implementation.

Kari Peloza

Senior Director of Talent Acquisition
Kari Peloza is backed by 20 years of leadership in Sales and Recruitment. She has extensive experience with an emphasis in talent development, creating training curriculum, project planning and implementation, process improvement, sales management and revenue generation. Kari was a past President of Toastmasters International club and has completed graduate courses and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.

Crystal Morley

Senior Director of Marketing
Crystal Morley is a strategic healthcare marketing executive with over a decade of experience leading corporate marketing communications for multimillion-dollar companies across diverse healthcare segments. She specializes in the conceptualization and orchestration of communication strategies that effectively reinforce and build brand images. She holds an MBA with a focus in management and a BS in Communications and Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University.

Bryanna Bone

Director of Operations and Business Development
Bryanna Bone is a dedicated management professional with over 10 years of experience in healthcare services. Since joining Peak in 2007 she has made significant individual contributions to the company’s continued success in delivery of contract coding and auditing services to its federal healthcare clients. Bryanna studied Business Management at San Diego State University.

Heather Davidson

Director of Coding Services
Heather Davidson, CCS, CPC, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10 Trainer, is a dedicated HIM professional with experience in a variety of HIM roles. She has held various coding, reimbursement, CDI and education roles within multiple healthcare and nontraditional settings including acute care hospital inpatient and outpatient, physician practice and health information systems (HIS) vendor during her 15-year career as an accomplished HIM professional. Her expertise has been demonstrated through practical experience, leadership and coding education. Heather is currently enrolled as a graduate student at King University pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree and has a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from King University. Melissa McLeod-Seyfert

Director of Consulting
Melissa McLeod-Seyfert has over 15 years of management, coding, auditing and education experience in all disciplines of medical coding and auditing. Her extensive experience in the field has led her to understand the need for strong collaborative relationships between coders, CDI and physicians. Melissa holds credentials as an IP/OP Coder, Coding Instructor and is certified in CDI through both ACDIS and AHIMA. Melissa also holds the approved ICD-10 CM/PCS trainer through AHIMA and has served as an AHIMA PCAP reviewer, a Clinical Terminology Classification Practice Council Member and was the 2010 President – American Academy Professional Coders (AAPC) – Salisbury Chapter. Susan Griffin

Director of Coding Services – VA & Indian Health
Susan Griffin, CCS, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10 Trainer, is a dedicated HIM professional with over 25 years of experience in a variety of HIM roles. Prior to joining Peak in 2004 Susan was a Contract Coder for Aviacode and Restuccio HealthCare Group, and a Coder/Trainer/Auditor for Southeast Missouri Hospital. She has years of hospital and health system experience from an HIM, IT, clinical application and EHR/Encoder perspective. Susan is also a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, has attended the AHIMA ICD-10 CM/PCS Academy, and is a well-respected HIM professional on the national front. Susan attended SE Missouri State University.

Jeanne Castellano

Accounting Manager
Jeanne Castellano is a licensed CPA with over 20 years of experience in full cycle accounting, payroll processing and benefits administration. She is a well-rounded accounting professional with solid technical as well as intuitive skills. Jeanne enjoys a small business environment where she can be involved in a variety of tasks and experience the entire business cycle. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the Minnesota School of Business.
